This video, shot on March 11, 2010 at the Inferno Nightclub, gives you an idea of what burlesque is like here in the Bondage Capitol of the World. It shows the mad rope skillz of Ms. Behavin' as she ties, teases, titillates, and tears off the shirt of Foxy Veronica (leader of Foxy Veronica's Peach Pies).

There's a couple of interesting things about this video. First, those of you familiar with my performances may find this to be...well, familiar. That's right, this is the same number that I've been performing for years - in fact, the same music is used as when I used to do this act with Ms. Behavin' when I performed with the group.

Am I mad that they're using my act? Are you kidding?!? Just watch the video! They are, conservatively, 3654% hotter than I ever was performing this routine. Yet it's still mine. I look at it the way a playwright might watch his writing brought to life by talented actors - I created it and gave it to people who could express my vision better than I could.

However, YouTube, in its infinite wisdom, decided it was far too hot for general consumption, taking it down just a day after it went up, and sending me a stern slap on the digital wrist:

Most nudity is not allowed, particularly if it is in a sexual context. Generally if a video is intended to be sexually provocative, it is less likely to be acceptable for YouTube. There are exceptions for some educational, documentary and scientific content, but only if that is the sole purpose of the video and it is not gratuitously graphic.

To which I give a thoughtful "uh-HUH..." and go ahead and post it here, complete with embed code available on the handy-dandy Wizzard Player which you can use to put the video up on your web page. And since I pay for unlimited bandwidth from this fine company, I invite you all to put the code up on your sites, as well.

Meanwhile, I'll be over here watching some of YouTube's "educational, documentary and scientific content."

Now, I like all those videos. Really. I just find YouTube's policies capricious, arbitrary, hypocritical, and ultimately ineffectual.

That's ok. From Apple to Wikipedia, it's been a rough few weeks for the Ropecast. I'll just keep putting out the content, and trust that the people who want it will find it, support it, and spread the knotty word.

I am unfamiliar with "sukebe" the way you spelled it on one podcast. I was wondering if perhaps it was actually "sukebei" (kana ï?ïï?ïï?ïï?ï) [ kanji åå or åï?ïå]. Or perhaps this is one of those Japanese words where they sometimes drop off a letter and it's actually either way. Do you happen to know? I thought I was up on my Japanese "perv" terms (hentai, tousakusha, bukkake, futanari, panchira, paizuri, ecchi), but apparently not. Anyhow, it's been bugging me, so I thought I should ask (as it's not something I feel comfortable asking my two Japanese gal pals).

In workshops that I give, people ask what length of rope they should use. I never give a fixed answer. If the partner you are tying is under five feet tall and 90 pounds soaking wet, you will need a different length of rope for them than if you are tying a big burly guy built like a linebacker.  The rope you use must be matched to the size of your primary play partner. This is why I answer with my 'double double double' rule.

Have whoever you will be tying stand with arms extended out to their side and measure from fingertip to fingertip. Double that length. This gives the basic short length good for tying wrists together or spread eagle to the bedposts. Double THAT length. This is the basic medium length good for rope bras, hogties, and general purpose work. Double THAT length. This is the basic long length good for rope corsets or full body harnesses.

Naturally this is not exact. Skinnier people will need slightly less than this and fatter people more. Japanese style bondage would need slightly more while 'damsel in distress' style would need significantly less. But it is a good general guideline that gets people into the right range and is extremely easy to remember and
calculate.

What I am looking for is a kind of measured-to-the-body guideline that works for rope diameter as well. Diameter confuses people more than length. Is a 5/16 inch diameter rope more or less than a 3/8 inch? What is 4mm converted into imperial units? Bigger body types need thicker rope than smaller body types, but how much bigger or smaller.

What I would like is an easy to remember way of determining the
diameter of rope needed based on the size of the partner you are
tying.

This was one of the fun stunts at the Babes-in-Tieland event this weekend put on by C K of the Minnesota Bondage group. The evening started with a gallery of various bondage forms, from military bondage in full dress blues to a delicate Korean woman in her first kikkou-style karada to a hot Damsel-in-Distress in arm binders and fedora.

My own model, Symetrie, spent nearly 45 minutes inverted, a testament to the power of yoga to preserve one's kinky stamina. She then came out of that (and several variations) raring for more, including the idea to try this. QT_141592 and A_Petite_Blonde are the other two "babes" in this Babe-O-Mat, and they had a lot of fun. More pics are hopeful, but the best view is one that only my eyes saw.

I lay underneath them, watching their happy faces and boobies rotate above me. The dancer in me took over, and I asked them to grasp each others hands and push out. This resulted in a lovely bell-shaped arch ("I want that on my Xmas tree" one bystander muttered) for about five seconds - then they all came crashing back to the center. To bump heads, you might think...but no! The female form is graced with bumpers to prevent such accidents from happening, and they ended up just kind of...well...boinging against each other for a bit.
